Fred Miller BIO

Fredrick Miller is chief information officer and associate vice president for information services for Wofford College. As CIO, Miller is responsible for all information technology services to support students, faculty and staff.

Miller previously CIO at Furman University in Greenville, S.C., a post he has held since September 2008. Previously, Miller was associate vice president for information technology at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., and assistant vice president for information technology at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He also has held technology positions at National Gypsum Corp. in Wakefield, Mass.; Keltron Corp. in Waltham, Mass.; and McDonald, Krieger, Bowyer and Beyanka in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Miller is a graduate of Boston College with a bachelor of arts degree in management, cum laude, and a master of business administration degree. He received his master of science in library and information science degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill.

He has presented numerous papers and published a number of articles relating to information technology. He has been a member of and served in a variety of capacities with EDUCAUSE, the association for information technology professionals in higher education.
